Infectious Tracheobronchitis

Introducing an intranasal vaccination against kennel cough

What did the client need?

The client wanted a film to introduce an antibiotic for effective pathogenic E.coli control in pigs. The product was already established on the European market, and the client now wanted to introduce it in the US. It is noteworthy that this product is part of an all-encompassing business philosophy that provides the pig farmer with building blocks to increase his profitability. As one of these building blocks, this product protects piglets during a susceptible period after weaning and thereby ensures their health and growth into profitable finisher pigs. On the one hand, the film was supposed to target pig producers and should therefore be concise and entertaining. On the other hand, it still needed to be technical and scientific enough so that interested vets would enjoy watching it too.

How did we meet this need?

In a continuation of the client’s series, we delivered another upbeat Fast Sketch video to raise awareness amongst veterinarians and pet owners about the dangers of kennel cough and increase use of the vaccine. For the sake of consistency and recognition, we used the familiar and endearing characters from the earlier project, introducing new “friends” for the dachshund protagonist in order to create an easy-to-understand, catchy, and informative animation. The recognition factor heightened a sense of trust in the marketing campaign in both professionals and pet owners, ultimately increasing the chances of more pets being vaccinated. Because of the light narrative tone and hand-drawn style, the resulting video felt less like promotional material than an enjoyable presentation of useful facts, informing viewers about the specific bacteria involved in the infection and the vaccine’s easy application method and long duration.
